Last weekend I made the 6 hour trip from Bendigo to Thredbo for a family weekend away. The family had decided to climb the highest point in Australia- Mount Kosciuszko.
It was the end of the month and typically very busy with my Arbonne business, but I thought, why not, if I don’t do it now, I will probably never do it. So off I set, with my head phones (listening to a conference call), Arbonne protein powder and bliss balls and little cousin, Charlie, keeping me in toe.
Charlie and I – we did it!
It took us 2 hours to walk from the Eagles Nest Restaurant up to the top (a few drink and loo stops along the way). The whole way Dad and I led the pack. We are not competitive at all. Ha! Like father like daughter. It was not as steep as I thought it would be, but it was much colder, I thought my 3/4 lorna Janes and a light jacket would cut it, but I was wrong. I still put the sunscreen on, minus the legs (As you can see – still rocking the tan).
We got to the top, all 2,228 metres above sea level, took some selfies, enjoyed some lunch and heading back down. It took us 1.5 hours to get back to Eagles Nest, but not without a causality along the way. A cut, bruised and swallow knee was the result of Aunty Jack loosing her footing.
You would have through the 13km round trip would have taken it out of us, but no… there was still the bobsledding to do. So much fun. Playing is what life is all about, and play we did! The children in all of us were unleashed.
I was particularly proud of my uncle, who after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease recently, managed to make it to the top in 2 hours and 10 minutes and back down in 1 hour 40 minutes. You are a true inspiration and have shown me that if you set your goal and chip away at it consistently, anything is possible! Thank you for being our hero.
I am so grateful that Arbonne allows me to have time freedom and spend time with the people I love. Arbonne being a very holistic health and wellness company is what led me to pursue a career as a health coach. They have both taught me to give myself permission to enjoy the work-life balance and not feel guilty for taking time for me.
If you can get to Mt Kozzie and check it out, I highly recommend it, particularly in the off season as there is still so much to do.
