Turning 29 and 29 things to be grateful for

I turned 29 last week, 29 that ‘weird’ age apparently (check out 19 reasons why 29 is the weird age here)…. But I beg to differ. My 28th year was one of the most challenging and rewarding years all in one. Being a July 29th baby, the 29th is a special number for me… so here’s to a year full of adventure and fun for the next 12 months, but for now, 29 things I am grateful for:

  1. Turning 29: a lot of people dislike Birthday’s and turning a year old… I say every new year is a gift! Cherish it.
  2. Cooking: I LOVE to cook and I made not just one, but two scrumptious (and ‘healthy’) cakes.

  1. Friends: To my beautiful friends for calling and texting me and always being there. I love you.
  2. Wine: I will admit I have been enjoying a cheeky red wine over the past few nights. Just one – don’t they say, a wine a day…
  3. Food: I wanted to eat somewhere new for my Birthday, so I headed to Rocks on Rosalind, the food was delicious and the company even better! I love spending time with people close to me. Thanks LeeAnn, Phil, Tracie, Teghan and Abbie for joining me.              29 things 3
  4. The 100s of texts, phone calls and Facebook posts, accompanied by the great pictures of many great moments.
  5. “Happy Birthcake” videos from my niece.
  6. My company for continuing to spoil me with flowers delivered to my door… on that note:
  7. Flowers from my beautiful friend, Ash.29 things 4
  8. The best roomies ever: love my Lorna Jane book, amazing recipes
  9. A new hair do: nothing like a chop to cleanse and get rid of the extra baggage and split ends.

29 things 5

  1. Winter: Yes, I said it, secretly it is not my best friend and most years I get the winter blues. Winter is a time of less adventuring out, and more a time to turn inward, and that can be scary at times, but you learn a lot about yourself.
  2. Winter almost being over: haha, contradiction, I can see the light of Spring! Bring on the warm weather.
  3. Sleeping in: Being gentle with myself, it is ok if I don’t get up at 5.30 and get to the gym. If I only manage to do 15 minutes of yoga on the lounge room floor that is ok.
  4. Soulful Sundays: Time out for me, to reflect and do what I love. Waking up without a deadline!

29 things 8

  1. Coaching others: I decided to work some of my Birthday. Why? Because I am in my element when I am presenting to other people and helping them. It lights me up.
  2. Getting pretty: I love being able to spend time doing my hair, nails and makeup and then getting into the depths of the cupboard to pull out a favourite outfit or heading to the shops to get something new.
  3. People that challenge me: Each situation and person has the opportunity to allow us to learn and grow. People enter our lives for many different reasons. It is about finding the silver lining, in the situation and also the good in them.
  4. My business coach/s: They say when you are on the edge of something amazing the world will throw you all kinds of challenges, it is the small percentage of people that don’t give up that will reap the rewards. My business coach has helped me to see this. Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it allows you to show up in the world how you want, and to do things with that money that make you come alive.
  5. The work that I do: Not many people get to work from home (in their uggboots, under the heater), helping to change the lives of others. It can be challenging being an entrepreneur and you need to be motivated and disciplined, but the rewards far outweigh any sacrifices made.
  6. My wellness coach: Even a coach needs a coach. Sarah at Inner Me Wellness, has been a huge support for me in the past 2 years.
  7. My parents: In the past 29 years, they have always been there to support me, whether financially or emotionally. I thank them for all the lessons I have learned, good or bad, as they have shaped who I am today.

29 things 7

  1. My beautiful cousin/big ‘sister’/best friend: She is always on the other end of the phone, checking in. The most selfless person I have met. She will always put others first, and knows how to make me smile.
  2. My family: they say you cannot choose your family, but I think we all choose our family, and they teach us so much and shape the people we are today. I am so grateful to have each and every one of them in my life. There are the highs and the lows, but at the end of the day, I know we all rally together, and I have seen this is action. I love you all.
  3. My Arbonne family: It’s not every day that you get to choose to work with people you love. Thank you for your support to help me be a better person each and every day. 29 things 9
  4. Health: ‘Health is the crown on the well person’s head that only the ill person can see’ – Robin Sharma. I am grateful to have my health and each day I move closer towards full health, through diet and lifestyle choices. To my family members who are quite unwell at the moment, here’s to a speedy recovery.
  5. Travel: Being able to travel the world, paid for by my company, just for helping others to be successful. Next week I book my flights to the USA for a Caribbean Cruise!
  6. Time: It is free, but it’s priceless, you can’t own it, but you can use it, you can’t keep it, but you can spend it, once you’ve lost it, you can never get it back. So grateful to have businesses that allow me to spend my time the way I want, which bring me to my final point:
  7. Legacy: Each day creating time and money freedom that is going to allow me to contribute to the world and give my time, and once I am gone, leave a legacy, not only for my children, and generations to come, but also a legacy of making a difference in the world.
