3 simple tools to combat fear/negative thoughts

During a 1:1 coaching call last week a client asked me for tips on how to work through pregnancy loss, as she had previously had a miscarriage, like I had. 

So for todays post I want to share my 3 simple tools to not only overcome pregnancy loss fear, but any fear or negative thoughts...

1| Allow yourself to feel the emotions. 

  • Notice the emotions, feel where they are in the body. Give them a colour, a shape, a size, maybe even a weather system. 

  • Then choose to change the colour, shape, size…

  • Then choose to allow this new changed shape to leave your body, you may blow it out, pull it out of your stomach or imagine it floating down your arm and flicking it off your fingers…

This is called a sub modality change, and works to transmute emotions via symbols - this is how our subconscious mind communicates.

2| EFT/Tapping

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), or tapping, is a method that combines tapping on specific points of the body with psychological techniques. It aims to release emotional distress by addressing disruptions in the body's energy system. By tapping while acknowledging the issue and affirming self-acceptance, EFT is believed to restore balance and reduce negative emotions.

3| Start with the end in mind & anchor this in…

I am a great believer in ‘lazy’ manifesting… Having anchors/reminders in our environment that filter in what we want, not what we don’t want, which are often the fear based thoughts playing on repeat in our minds. 

For me anchors include:

  • Writing affirmations on my bathroom mirror and reading them every morning & night when I shower

  • Reminders on my phone popping up at regular intervals throughout the day reminding helping me to ‘crowd out’ the negative thoughts.
